Snowstorm in Michigan; Woman Killed as 6 Inches of Snow Wreaks Havoc on Roads (VIDEO, PHOTO)
A snowstorm has wreaked havoc in parts of Michigan as up to 6 inches of snow were dropped on some areas in a surprisingly heavy pre-winter storm.
The northern parts of the state were hot the hardest, with a dusting of snow seen in the Detroit area.
According to the National Weather Service, as of Tuesday morning it was estimated that parts of Antrim County in the northwestern Lower Peninsula area saw five to six inches if snowfall.
The NWS also explained that in parts of the Upper Peninsula, there was reported at least 5-6 inches of snow.
Emergency services were kept busy as icy and slippery roads caused multiple crashes on roads in Michigan.
In one of the worst crashes, reports have said that one woman died following a series of collisions near Webberville on Interstate 96.
The Ingham County sheriff's department has reported that an overpass was coated with ice.
