Sofia Vergara Freezing Eggs, Prepping for Baby, Actress Confirms

Sofia Vergara has done away with the rumors and confirmed that she is planning to have a child with her boyfriend Nick Loeb. She recently spoke about having her eggs frozen in preparation of having another child.

"I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs! They want to get as many good eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones. My boyfriend is 37, younger than me, never had kids," Vergara told Vogue magazine.

Vergara is 40, which usually makes conception much more difficult, and given that her boyfriend is already in his late 30s, it could be even more difficult for the couple. They have reportedly already found a surrogate to carry Vergara's eggs, which will hopefully result in a pregnancy.

"The child will be biologically Sofia and Nick's baby, and she has selected a surrogate – who is a very close girlfriend – to carry the baby. A procedure has taken place, and Sofia and Nick will find out in a few weeks if it was successful, if the surrogate is pregnant, and if they will become parents," a source close to Vergara told The New York Post.

It's unclear whether Vergara is just in the early phases of surrogacy or whether, in fact, she already has someone in mind to serve as a gestational surrogate. She has spoken at length about wanting to be a mother again and had the opportunity to relive a pregnancy in part because of her role on "Modern Family."

Vergara already has a 21-year-old son named Manolo from a previous relationship.

"You know, sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger: 'Why can't you have another baby so you can stop focusing on me?'" she told "Vogue."

While Vergara hasn't said whether she would prefer a baby boy or girl, a friend confirmed that Vergara has her hopes set on a little girl.

"She will love this baby more than anything," a friend told "In Touch Weekly."
