Solo's Husband in Jail for Parole Violation
Hope Solo's husband, Jerramy Stevens, is back in jail on new charges that he violated terms of his probation. Stevens was previously arrested for allegedly assaulting his new bride, but Solo has said that she was no victim and is happily married to Stevens.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Stevens was picked up after they learned of the physical altercation that occurred on Nov. 12. He was charged with assault in the fourth degree after Solo sustained a laceration on her elbow but was released the next morning.
Police said that they would continue investigating what happened at the party that night and that Stevens could be subjected to new charges if evidence so proved. He was already on probation for marijuana possession, and being arrested was a direct violation of that probation.
He has not been before a judge yet, and bond has not been set. It's been a rocky start to the marriage between Solo and Stevens, yet she is adamantly defending her new husband.
"I feel bad for all the ignorance in the world," Solo tweeted after the arrest. "People are so quick to judge. The media spins stories in such dramatic fashion. I will continue to show love and never make judgments. I am blessed with true love and the beautiful game of soccer. I wish everybody the same happiness."
Fans were worried when Solo was injured during the earlier altercation then turned around and married the man charged with her assault the very next day. But Solo told Larry Brown Sports that her "life is great. My life is happy."
"It's unfortunate what the media can do to really judge before the facts are out there," she continued. "I'm happy. I'm happily married. We never stand for domestic violence. I've never been hit in my life. It's unfortunate, and that's what the media can do."
