Sony Black Friday Deals Include Discounts on PlayStation Plus and PS3 Bundles Games
Black Friday sales for PlayStation products are bountiful in several places with one of the best deals being a PlayStation Plus subscription.
PlayStation Plus is is a requirement to play many of the PS4's titles online and Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and Toys R Us are offering it for $29.99. It is regularly $49.99 annually.
Also available at all of these retailers is Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us for $39.99, and 250 GB PS3 bundle that includes Batman: Arkham Origins and The Last of Us for $199.99.
Sony is also taking off up to 65 percent on certain downloadable titles, according to Polygon.
Three PSOne games are being given away for free on PlayStation Home in the area called the PlayStation 4 Experience.
The three classic games available are Twisted Metal, Warhawk, and Destruction Derby. The promotion is on the PS3, and requires a virtual tour of the PS4 to gain access to the games.
Once accessed, gamers will interact with an oversized PS Vita and go on a "Quest for Greatness," scavenger hunt where 13 special cards are hidden in various virtual objects.
The whole process takes about 10 minutes or so as the hunt requires simple puzzle solving and movie references. During the game, PS4 title trailers for Knack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and DriveClub are played.
Sony is also releasing a PS4 and PS Vita "Ultimate Bundle" and details surfaced online last week as the holiday season is inching closer.
"We're really excited for Vita as we move into Christmas," Sony senior product manager of Sony Ben Law said to MCV. "We've got a great campaign with key messaging around new releases like Tearaway, the ever-growing game catalogue and the Remote Play service."
He also revealed to MCV that Sony was going to run a series of commercials called, "The Best Way to Play," for £2.5m. The commercial will focus on how the PS Vita integrates with the PlayStation 4 using its Tearaway technology.
