Microsoft Focused on Hardware for This Year's E3, But Sony Leveled it With Great Game Offerings
The absence of the PlayStation 4K in this year's Sony E3 2016 event was substituted with exciting games and trailers that the company introduced to its fans on Tuesday.
If Microsoft highlighted new hardware on their E3 presentation, Sony presented an all-game ensemble which included much-awaited instalments like "Resident Evil 7" and "The Last Guardian."
Below are some of Sony's top game trailers:
1. 'Call of Duty: Infinite War'
The game's trailer sets off with fighters in space aboard a large ship equipped with needed technology for surveillance and warfare. The video then proceeds to a first-person shooting and walking experience, giving players the ability to try a new form of combat. "Call of Duty: Infinite War" will be offered beginning Nov. 4.
2. 'God of War'
This game is expected to be a reboot of the Greek mythology-based video game series. Protagonist Kratos was seen sporting a beard, which he did not previously have in the series. Experts observed that the character also looked entirely different in the trailer. Kratos also appeared to have a son for this upcoming game based from the latter's exposure on the trailer.
3. 'The Last Guardian'
Sony announced that "The Last Guardian" will be available to players on Oct. 25. Introduced in 2009, the game has got fans waiting for almost seven years for its delayed release. The gaming public is expecting something big and exciting for this game from Sony.
4. 'Resident Evil 7'
Another great announcement from Sony is the new instalment of the survivor horror video game "Resident Evil 7." It promises to get darker and scarier especially with the coming of a VR version for the game. Gamers can start playing "Resident Evil 7" on Jan. 24 but a free demo was offered on Tuesday night.
5. 'Death Stranding'
Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima is back He was presented at the E3 like he was a true hero in the field of gaming. A product of Kojima Productions, "Death Stranding" shows a naked character portrayed by Norman Reedus, who explores an out-of-this world environment. Not much of the game's story can be seen on the trailer, but it gives players something to look forward to.
Aside from these big game announcements from Sony, the company also said that PlayStation VR will already be available by Oct. 13. It will cost $399 for a headset which players can use to play and enjoy virtual reality games.
