Sony Xperia Z5 release date, specs news: To unveil new mobile with advanced focus feature?
Good news for all Sony fans! The long wait is going to be over soon as Sony made an official announcement through Twitter that they are unveiling a new smartphone on Sept. 2, 2015. The tech giant made even more hype among fans by posting an out of focus photo of the smartphone taking a picture of a scenic view at night. The caption says, "Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus," along with the revealing date saying, "All will become clear on 02.09.2015."
Sony didn't divulge further details about the new handset they will be unveiling at the upcoming IFA 2015 tech trade event in Berlin, Germany but GSM Arena suggests that the company is adding the hybrid autofocus system to the upcoming Xperia Z5. Other reports also speculated that the handset used in the teaser photo may be the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact since its size appears small in relation to the size of the hands holding it.
For the past few months, Sony has been rumored to make a reveal of the Xperia Z5, a phablet device that comes with a 5.5 inches display and the Xperia Z5 Compact with 4.7 inches display. According to International Business Times, Sony had already previously launched a smartphone that features a hybrid autofocus system (which combines phase detection and contrast autofocus systems) and it's called the Xperia M5 with a price of only $400.
With that said, it can be implied that the Xperia Z5 is expected to carry the autofocus system a notch higher. Rumors say that both the Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will feature the Sony IMX240 sensor. Apparently, that camera sensor is the same one that is being used on the newly released Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
Just a few days left until fans will be able to find out more about the new smartphone Sony has in store for everyone.
