Sony Xperia XZs Release Date, Specs News: High-End Device Available for Pre-Order in Europe; Dual SIM Version Heading to China Mid-April
With Chinese telecommunications regulatory authority TENAA giving the green light, the dual SIM version of Sony Xperia XZs is heading to China soon. Sony officially unveiled the high-end smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in late February, alongside the Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra.
The Xperia XZs gives a significant upgrade to the Sony Xperia XZ flagship and has almost the same specs as the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. It comes in two variants — a single Nano-SIM G8231 and a dual SIM G8232. It also comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options, as well as three color options — Warm Silver, Ice Blue and Black.
The phone is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and sports a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. When it comes to its internal storage, it can be expanded up to 256 GB of storage space via a microSD card. It packs a 2900 mAh of battery and rocks Android 7.1 Nougat.
One of the best features of the Xperia XZs is its camera. Its rear camera is 19 megapixels (MP) and features Sony's latest innovation, the Motion Eye feature. Since the smartphone offers unparalleled high-quality images, Sony markets it as "the world's first memory embedded camera." Its 13-MP front camera is also best for taking selfies.
The Xperia XZs comes with a price tag of 4699 yuan in China, which is approximately $680. Because of the smartphone's high price range, it is considered a premium phone. Today, it is available for pre-order in some European countries including Germany, the Netherlands and Italy.
It was previously reported that for those who have pre-ordered it, the phone will be available by the first or second week of April. The dual SIM version will also be available in China starting mid-April.
