Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs News: Leaked Image Appears on Xperia Lounge

Sony just revealed their new Xperia Z4 tablet earlier than its expected first view at the MWC in Spain next month.

Sony Mobile Communications inadvertently leaked images and specifications of its upcoming flagship phone, the Sony Xperia Z4, just a month before its scheduled unveiling at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on March 3.

The reveal posted on the company's Xperia Lounge application confirmed the new device's 2K display, as well as "the latest ultra fast processor," and "industry leading battery performance." The design in the leaked Z4 image appears to feature a 10-inch display in an ultra-slim body.

Whether the "leak" was done in error, or was intended as a teaser on the upcoming smartphone was not confirmed, as Sony immediately pulled the listing shortly after.

Rumored to have a pre-installed Android 5.0 Milkshake OS, HD 4K hi-res screen with a 6.3-inch display, the Z4 is speculated to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and will be dust resistant, heatproof, and waterproof to a depth of up to 100 meters.

Security features of Sony's latest flagship model is said to have been beefed up with the new fingerprint scanner/sensor to lock and unlock the device. The same feature has become a standard for other high end Android phones like the Apple iPhone 5s and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Rumored to have a substantial 5000 mAh battery, the Z4 will be able to carry heavy duty software applications and graphics intensive gaming apps. As is standard with Sony's high-end cameras, the Z4 is said to have a 27MP rear camera featuring a G+ sensor, a dual LED flash, integrated editing options, and a 10MP front cam for better Skype and video calls.

The Sony Xperia Z4 is scheduled for U.S., U.K. and Australia release in September 2015, and may have an estimated price point of €1110 ($1250).
