Sony Xperia Z5+ Specs News: Can Sony Outmatch Samsung's Own Galaxy S6 Edge+ With Its Own?

Sony may be lagging behind when it comes to release of its handsets, but it does not meant that it is relaxing in the midst of tight competition in the Android market.

In fact, rumors are now circulating that the Japanese manufacturer is already preparing its Xperia Z5+, which could be launched early next year.

According to a report by GSM Arena, an alleged leaked UAP file of the unannounced device revealed that Sony will install on it a 4K display. This comes as a surprise since Sony decided to stick with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screens in its Xperia Z3+ flagship this year.

The Japanese company, however, announced the Xperia Z4v, which boasts a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution display. However, it seems like Sony is aiming to create a game changer with a 4K display resolution.

In the alleged user agent profile of the Xperia Z5+, the device will reportedly run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset. This may not be the latest version of the chipset, but Sony may not have the latest version for testing just yet. Now that Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 820, the Japan-based company could begin testing it in its upcoming flagship.

Dubbed as the E68XX group of Sony phones, the unknown handset would potential boast a resolution that is four times a 1080p screen. If that is the case, then its alleged 5.5-inch display would have a mind-boggling pixel density of 801ppi.

In previous reports, other electronics manufacturers have already announced the development of 4K displays for 2016. One of these companies is Sharp, which supplies screens to a large number of mobile phones, tablets and TVs. Sony could work with its Japanese neighbour, although it is not guaranteed that both companies would work on a single device.

Other manufacturers that have been reported to be preparing 4K displays include ZTE and Samsung.
