Sony Xperia Z6 Release Date, Specs News: Features 5.2-Inch Pressure-Sensitive Display, Snapdragon 820, Android Marshmallow
Sony's September flagship smartphone has only been around for just a few months but Z6 rumors have already started to surface. According to Pocket-Lint, the said next device in the Z series is slated to be released in the second half of 2016.
The rumored schedule indicates that it won't be announced during the Mobile World Congress unlike how it was with the Xperia M4 Aqua. And if it is true, it will come around September during the IFA in Berlin. Another mid-ranger smartphone is perhaps expected to be released in MWC.
Xperia Z6 is also rumored to have its own version of a pressure-sensitive display. In a report by Venture Capital Post, Sony is attempting to make their own display which will mean that they will not be relying anymore on third-party suppliers like Synaptics who previously announced pressure-sensitive display components.

The pressure sensitive display lets users perform quick actions or various tasks based on how firmly they press the screen. It's the latest technology that is becoming more talked about so it's not really going to be a surprise to see Sony introduce it for its next flagship.
In terms of the design, the device is expected to sport the OmniBalance that has been seen in all of the models in the Z series. It may also come with an aluminum frame that will surround the 5.2-inch Full HD display which may probably be a premium version with a larger and sharper display. A smaller Compact offering is also expected.
The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC is also expected to be the one giving power to the handset, coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is also expected to be present. The predicted operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Speculations also point to a bigger battery pack. The camera on board is expected to be a 13-megapixel rear camera while the front comes with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
As of now, there are no official details yet regarding the device so it's best to take everything with a pinch of salt.
