South Africa's Crazy Golf Course Has You Teeing Off From Mountain Top
When people go to a mountaintop, it is usually for meditative contemplation, physical exercise, or for basic training. But in one place, people go there for golf.
In South Africa, at a place known as the Legends Golf Course, there is a hole known as the "Extreme 19" where golfers tee off at the edge of a mountain.
The "Extreme 19" was originally conceived as a bonus course, a sort of sideshow. Yet the imposing challenge has gained much popularity in global golfing circles.
Just how high up is the teeing off? Well, according to the experts it is about 400 meters, taking the ball about 30 seconds to hit the ground.
The green that the ball must go to was shaped like the continent of Africa, completed with a chunk on the side representing Madagascar.
