South Floridian Now Called Good Samaritan For Rescuing Man Caught in a Burning Car
A resident of South Florida is now being dubbed a modern-day Good Samaritan after saving the life of a man caught inside a burning vehicle on Saturday morning.
According to local news outlet WSVN-TV Miami, the good Samaritan, who refused to be named in reports, saw the victim's car burning along Alton Road. The rescuer said he was about 100 feet away from where the car crashed and started catching fire.
The good Samaritan told WSVN-TV, he saw the man's car "spiral out of control" while driving on the wet road.
"I saw the guy trapped inside and I pulled him out because what else am I going to do? He was stuck in there," the anonymous rescuer added. He then called the police right after making sure that the man he rescued was clear of the burning car.
Luckily, the vehicular accident had no casualties and no one else was hurt. In fact, according to reports, the victim scrambled to leave the crash site after the good Samaritan called the police and did not even wait for the investigators and paramedics to arrive.
However, the man saved from the burning car returned to the location later and was ticketed for various violations including leaving a crash scene, the reports added.
Despite his obvious heroic deed, the good Samaritan refused to be called as such. He told WSVN-TV: "Anybody should have done the same thing."
He then added: "You see a guy trapped in a car that's on fire, you're gonna do anything you can do, right?"
While witnesses and the good Samaritan confirmed that the road was wet at the time which might have caused the accident, reports added that the police had yet to find the cause of the car crash.
