Speak Words of Life With eBible Voice Edition App
Believers can now access their favorite scriptures by simply speaking them into a mobile device with the new eBible Voice Edition application for Android OS.
"What sets our eBible mobile app apart from others is, you can actually tell your Bible what you want to read and our app instantly takes you there," said Colin Wong, CEO of eBible. "For example, say 'John 3:16,' and our app will open up John chapter 3, verse 16 and read it back to you."
This new eBible allows users to navigate through the Word of God without having to deal with lists of books, chapters and verses. By speaking simple command users get the exact verse they are looking for with the new technology.
This makes Bible reading more convenient for those who normally listen to an audio Bible while engaging in some type of activity.
"The most often quoted situation is a user driving a car," read eBible's press release. "Instead of looking at a small screen and being distracted, a user simply speaks the scripture location."
It almost works like a Siri and Bible hybrid and would be great for churchgoers whose pastors reference a lot of scriptures during a service.
"With Apple's recent launch of Siri on the iPhone, the industry is beginning to recognize voice-recognition as the next generation UI (user interface) enabler for smartphones and tablets. eBible plans to release voice recognition for its iPhone and iPad apps very soon as well," said Wong.
The company that developed the app is based out of Seattle, Washington and specializes in creating Bible products and services. Wong is a former Google engineer who stumbled into the business by creating an electronic Bible for himself that all of his Christian friends soon wanted.
The eBible Voice Edition is now available free for a limited time in the Google Play store.
