Looking at the standings, Iowa are sixth with an impressive 12-1 record and they face fifth-placed Stanford who have an 11-2 pip at the moment.
There is so much excitement surrounding this coming clash, especially for Iowa as they are headed back to feature in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1991. Furthermore, coach Kirk Ferentz will be appearing here for the first time since taking over at Iowa 17 seasons ago.
On the flip side, Stanford have made the Rose Bowl almost a yearly occurrence as they are now in their third berth in the last four years as they beat Southern California early in December.
The last time they were here, they lost to Michigan State and Stanford coach David Shaw is now looking to give the school and his boys the win they believe they deserve.
Looking at critics and picks on who would win, Stanford currently have almost a 2-to-1 tip to take the victory on the Rose Bowl, but do not count out Iowa as they are very capable as well.
