'Star Wars Battlefront 2' News: More Details About the Sequel Shared by EA, Expected to Feature Numerous New Characters
'Star Wars Battlefront 2' expected to be released sometime later this year
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" has not been fully fleshed out just yet, though more details related to what it may eventually feature have been trickling out recently.
Electronic Arts' Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen was the one who shared the new details about the sequel while speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, GameSpot reported.
According to Jorgensen, the upcoming "Star Wars" game will be "dramatically larger" compared to the most recent installment of the franchise.
Jorgensen added that plenty of new characters are also set to be introduced as well, and they will come from the newer "Star Wars" films.
Notably, Jorgensen's new comments are not all that different from what he has said about the game previously.
Back when Jorgensen spoke at an investor call late last year, the CFO also made similar comments related to this upcoming game.
During that investor call, Jorgensen shared that the sequel would be "much bigger" and "more exciting," Games Radar reported.
Jorgensen also indicated that the sequel may be able to "leverage content from the new movies."
Aside from being designed to be a larger game and one that makes use of content from the recently released "Star Wars" movies, "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is also expected to address the issues that players had with the game that was released back in 2015.
Going back to Jorgensen, he also noted during that aforementioned investor call that they have seen and heard the points of criticism leveled at the 2015 game. The CFO added that they have taken the criticism to heart and that the issues players had with the earlier game will be addressed by the sequel.
At this point in time, there is still no known specific release date for "Star Wars Battlefront 2," though the sequel is expected to be made available sometime later this year.
