'Star Wars Battlefront 2' News: More Single-Player Campaign Mode Details Revealed, Length and Differences From Multiplayer Mode Discussed

Campaign included in the sequel after fans expressed a strong desire for it

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" will arrive with a single-player campaign included that is expected to be a substantial component of the game.

Motive producer David Robillard recently shared quite a few new details about the game's campaign mode.

First off, Robillard talked about why the decision was made to include a single-player mode this time around.

During an interview with GameSpot, Robillard mentioned that one of the most common pieces of feedback they received from fans who played the 2015 "Star Wars Battlefront" game was they wanted a single-player component.

The new addition is not just going to be some minor feature either.

According to Robillard, the campaign is "its own separate experience." Developers are also introducing a new character who will serve as the protagonist for the campaign and is named Iden Versio. She is the commander of the Empire's Inferno Squad.

Players can also expect to spend quite a bit of time in Versio's shoes.

In a separate interview with Press Start, Robillard revealed that the campaign should last for around five to seven hours.

The story that will be told over the course of "Star Wars Battlefront 2's" campaign has obviously not been detailed in full just yet, though Robillard did tease that it may feature soldiers wondering about the morality of what they were doing.

Notably, while players are going through the campaign, they should also notice that the Star Cards prominently featured in it are somewhat similar to the ones included in the multiplayer mode. Those systems are still designed to be separate, however, though they may end up being linked to one another in some way in the future.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is set to be released worldwide on Nov. 17, but fans who decided to pre-order or will pre-order the "Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition" can get started on Nov. 14.
