'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' Release Date: New Game Coming Winter 2015
"Star Wars: Battlefront" is confirmed for release in the winter of 2015 at least for PlayStation 4 consoles. No definite date has been given yet for what is generally considered to be the third installment of the "Battlefront" games series, commonly called "Battlefront 3," within the gaming community. The release is set to coincide with the rollot of the new "Star Wars" movie.
According to Expert Reviews, the game will being developed by EA Digital Solutions CE or DICE after the original studio Free Radical Design "lost its rights to continue developing it." DICE is known for its work with first person shooter games such as the Battlefield series.
Another report in Master Herald said that DICE is bent on creating a game that is a combination of familiar features from the previous versions of "Battlefront" and their "own flavor on it", thus insisting that the game will be something new rather than a sequel.
The report continues, citing that the game will feature "an extensively developed single player campaign," but will also "revolutionize the multi-player aspect of the franchise." This means expanding the game's features so that it can allow gamers to play with other gamers.
An official teaser trailer was previously released during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2014 gives the public a glimpse of the worlds that may be included in the game. In-game scenes, although in early development, showed the frozen landscape of Hoth and the dense forests of Endor.
One of the new features that DICE will likely bring into "Battlefront 3" is the use of Battlelog, an online tracking system that it is using for the Battlefield series. Battlelog is "a web interface for tracking personal stats and unlockables." It also allows the Battlefield to "use a browser to see what servers or matches are available and will pre-load them in the background," which may give a hint as what functions in multi-player mode will be available for "Battlefront 3."
