'Star Wars: Battlefront II' News, Release Date: New Trailer Shows Rey Fighting Off Stormtroopers with Her Lightsaber
"Star Wars Battlefront II" is set to arrive in a couple of weeks, and "Star Wars" fans are already thrilled to see what it has to offer. Earlier this week, a new trailer for the upcoming game has been dropped, showing Rey fighting off Stormtroopers with her lightsaber.
The clip hints that in the game, Rey is using the same lightsaber as the one she's using in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which is currently in post-production and will hit theaters in December. Fans of the franchise know that the original owner of the blue-bladed saber was Anakin Skywalker, who eventually passed it on to Luke.
EA markets "Star Wars: Battlefront II" as bigger and better than the 2015 version of the game, "Star Wars: Battlefront." The upcoming sequel will reportedly address some of the major issues raised by fans in the first game, including the lack of a Campaign Mode and other content.
The new launch trailer for the game was posted by EA Star Wars on Tuesday, highlighting the new multiplayer aspect of the sequel. Most of the action sequences feature some of the most iconic characters in the "Star Wars" franchise, including Rey and Darth Maul.
One of the most remarkable scenes in the trailer is one where Darth Maul is shown taking on Master Yoda, as well as a scene showing Darth Vader engaging in an epic fight against Luke while inside the Death Star.
If the new trailer is any indication, it looks like the upcoming game is going to be far more action-packed and immersive than its predecessor. If there is an issue so far raised by players after the release of the game's beta, it is the loot box system, which EA and DICE have just recently addressed.
According to DICE, certain changes will be made to the game following the beta. "This system, as well as all of the others, will be continually iterated on and improved," said DICE in a statement on Tuesday.
"Star Wars: Battlefront II" is set for release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Nov. 17.
