'Star Wars Battlefront's' Drop Zone mode is too exciting to miss!

The details of "Star Wars Battlefront's" Drop Zone mode are out and from it, one can see that it is based on the "King of the Hill" style of gameplay but with more thrills. The new Drop Zone mode will have two teams pitted against each other as they try to capture and control the 'Drop Pods' that fall through the atmosphere and onto planet surfaces. The team that controls 5 pods in succession or gets hold of the majority of them in the first 10 minutes is the declared winner.

A new post on the EA blog reveals strategies to play this exciting "King of the Hill" style game. The two teams - Rebels and Imperials - fight to capture and control the drop pods. Locate the drop pod's landing site, get into the thick of action by making your way to it and then trigger the short claim process. If a stalemate occurs with the pod constantly changing possession, another pod will be sent down and now the teams will go after these two pods

This is not all. The teams also have to simultaneously defend their captured pods. Static players can stand and guard them but they have to be careful as they can be hit by the explosives or the aim-to-hit Orbital Strike.

According to the EA blog, the Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall says that Drop Zone is all about action and quick thinking and they do not encourage players to stand and dawdle. "We're promoting the idea of a fast, action-packed game where you need to be mobile and think on your feet. Camping doesn't really pay off," he says.

Once a pod is claimed, it will start to open up and reveal Power Pickups. But there is a catch. It takes some time to open up and if you are waiting for it another one will hit the surface elsewhere. Since you can't wait forever, the smart move would be to go after the just fallen one.

Over time. a player may discover many ways to beat Drop Zone. Hence making the correct decision is part of the gameplay.

"Star Wars Battlefront' will be ready to play on November 17th.
