Cast:
Cast members who have been officially announced to be part of the film are John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. Original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will be back to reprise their roles.
Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o and "Game of Thrones" star Gwendoline Christie will also join the cast of "Star Wars." No details about their roles have been revealed as of the moment, but rumors are swirling that Nyong'o could play the role of Obi Wan Kenobi's descendant.
Rumors are also suggesting that WWE star Sheamus could be playing the role of the new Darth Vader. The speculations of the superstar wrestler's involvement in the film grew when he tweeted a picture of a lightsaber. Last week, The Telegraph reported that Sheamus tweeted a response to the Irish Mirror story which suggested that he was playing the iconic role. He wrote, "I can't confirm that I won't not be reprising role of Darth Vader in #StarWars … I hope that's clear." According to the website, his sly use of the double negative implies that he could be playing the role.
Plot:
Bad A-- Digest posted an unconfirmed plot for the opening scenes of the movie. According to the leak, the new film will start with a shot of Luke Skywalker's severed hand falling through space while still holding a lightsaber. The hand falls on a desert planet, where it is discovered by the characters of Ridley and Boyega. They recognize the saber as a Jedi weapon, and decide to look for its owner. The quest will apparently lead them to Han Solo and Chewbacca.
Filming Updates and Location:
It is being reported by The Telegraph that some scenes were filmed at Skellig Michael, which is off the west coast of Ireland. This was verified when Hamill was spotted getting a boat to the "Star Wars" set at Skellig.
It was also reported that filming went on a short hiatus when Harrison Ford broke his leg. Recently, Perez Hilton was able to get a photo of the actor walking without the help of a wheelchair or crutches, so it is assumed that filming is once again underway for the movie.
"Star Wars 7" is set to premiere on Dec. 18, 2015.
