'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' News: New Trailer to Debut on Thanksgiving Weekend? Major Character Rumored to Die

In less than a year, fans of the "Star Wars" franchise will finally get to see the new film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and yet, spoilers and plot details for the upcoming film have been scarce. As the holiday season draws near, many are speculating that the first teaser trailer could drop in December, while other reports say that the trailer will make its debut on ABC, much like how the first trailer for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" was meant to premiere during "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." before it was leaked online.

Another rumor involving the release of the trailer suggests that the trailer will debut with "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," but it's possible that the footage may be released earlier.

According to ComicBook.com, Disney plans to debut the 90-second trailer of "The Force Awakens" in 100 theaters in the U.S. on Thanksgiving weekend.

The website cites two Reddit posts as sources, and claims that Disney has informed these 100 theaters to give "Big Hero 6" their earliest showtime next weekend. If these rumors are true, then "The Force Awakens" trailer could premiere before "Big Hero 6" and will continue running in front of all show times all weekend.

Meanwhile, Star Wars 7 News is claiming that a major character is going to die at the end of "The Force Awakens." The website claims that it has stumbled on a story that they think is the conclusion to the movie that says Han Solo will be killed— by Luke Skywalker, no less.

The website says that Han will be trying to protect Adma Driver's character, and with his dying breath, he'll beg Luke to spare his life, and the decision to do so will be a cause of regret for the Jedi as the character will turn out to be evil. Driver will allegedly be playing the son of Han Solo, and his anger will stem from Luke killing his father.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
