Considering that "Star Wars" is one of the longest-running, most successful movie franchises in the world, reports suggest that instances like this can always be a well-thought Easter egg and that the chances of it being coincidental is doubtful.

Pop Sugar suggests that this possible Easter egg can also mean several things. First, it might mean that the Force has been awake all this time and that the act of "awakening" pertains to something that is going to be realized once the entire trilogy is out.

The same report suggests that if the fans' theories are accurate, then Episode IX is expected to complete the thought. Pop Sugar also raises the possibility that the trilogy will eventually lead to the introduction of new Jedi warriors.

As for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi's" plot, writer and director Rian Johnson earlier shared that it is going  to show the characters' deeper background, not with simple back stories, but by putting them through the toughest situation possible and showing how they would handle it.

Johnson also teased that "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" would continue to delve onto Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) connection to Jedi-in-training Rey (Daisy Ridley).

Meanwhile, since the newest theory was established, the next question that fans started to ask is, "Who is the last Jedi?" Everyone hopes the upcoming "Star Wars" movie will provide some answer when it premieres on Dec. 15.
