'Star Wars VII' Has Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson Ready to Revive Roles
Love it or hate it, there will soon be a new "Star Wars" movie among us, and celebrities are already excited about the idea of having a part in the franchise. Two such actors are Ewan McGregor, who would like to bring back Obi Wan-Kenobi, and Samuel L. Jackson, who wants a second chance with Mace Windu.
"I'm not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more 'Star Wars,'" Jackson told E! News. "It's like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu."
Windu, for those not familiar with the "Star Wars" franchise, was a Jedi Master who appeared in "The Phantom Menace," "Attack of the Clones," and "Revenge of the Sith." He was not one of the original performers in the "Star Wars" trilogy of the 1980s, but quickly became a fan favorite.

"I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die. I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don't care! I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won't, because I've been in three of them," Jackson explained.
And he's not the only actor interested in revising a character. Ewan McGregor told Access Hollywood he'd be up for reviving Obi Wan-Kenobi. "Yeah, sure … absolutely. Obi Wan was another Jedi originally from the first three films; even though he was killed off, Lucas found a way to bring him back from the dead in an ethereal fashion.
"If they need me, I'll be there," Ewan said. "Lucas let me know that he was selling ['Star Wars'] the day before it was released to the press and then he told me they were going to make the last three stories. I met him recently and asked him if he was going to be involved in them at all and he said he'd given them the storylines … but was never going to make them."
"Star Wars: Episode VII" is scheduled for release in 2015.
