Steenkamp Met Her Ex 2 Days Before Murder, Oscar Pistorius Documentary Claims
Reeva Steenkamp met with her ex-boyfriend two days before show was shot and killed by Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius.
A new documentary has claimed that Steenkamp and her ex, Warren Lahoud, met two days before the model was shot on Feb. 14. Lahoud, whom Steenkamp had previously dated for five years, also confirmed within the film that Pistorius called twice during the meeting.
"I said 'Is everything ok? I mean he's phoned twice already, every 20 minutes.' I asked her that question. She said 'there's nothing wrong,'" Lahoud said during the BBC documentary titled "Oscar Pistorius … What Really Happened?"
While Lahoud was concerned about Steenkamp during their meeting, however, he also acknowledged that he had met Pistorius twice before and had never gotten a negative feeling off of him.
"I've met him twice and there was never anything negative out of it at all," Lahoud said in the film. "(It was) fine … no problem at all."
The same documentary also spurned rumors last week that Pistorius was suicidal after the athlete's "close friend," Mike Azzie, called Pistorius "a broken man."
"He just always seems to mention Reeva and to ask us to pray for her and her family," Azzie said in the upcoming BBC3 documentary. "But most of all, you've got to understand that we are there for him and we will always be his friend."
Pistorius' family responded to the claims, insisting that the double amputee was not suicidal, but grieving.
Pistorius "is in deep mourning but despite the tragic circumstances he is certainly not suicidal," said a statement issued by Pistorius' uncle, Arnold Pistorius. "Oscar, broken as he currently is, believes he has a purpose in life and is working towards that."
