'Step Brothers 2' Rumors Slammed, Filming Will Not Take Place This Fall

There have been rumors going around about a sequel to the 2008 American buddy slapstick comedy film "Step Brothers" coming this year. Unfortunately, it will remain as a rumor as reports say that "Step Brothers 2" isn't real yet. Inquisitr detailed that there are sites spreading hoax news about a part two of the film that starred Will Ferrell and John C. Riley who played as Brennan Huff and Dale Doback respectively.

The fake news, which was found on the website Miss Open, said that all of the cast of the film including Ferrell, Riley, Richard Jenkins Mary Steenburgen will return. Aside from that, it mentioned that the sequel is currently in development and its plot story involves Dale and Brennan having low jobs and living in an apartment together in Sacramento, California.

It went on with its made-up plot saying that Dale accidentally impregnated a woman who doesn't want to raise the child with him once it is born, which leaves the step brothers no other choice but to take care of it together. The plot may seem interesting but none of it is true. It's also quite similar to the plot of the 80's film "3 Men and a Baby."

WTVR also noted that another hoax report put up a headline suggesting that the unannounced sequel will start filming in Richmond, Virginia this fall. The report was spotted at localnews33.com which was later found out to be a satire and fantasy news site, confirming even more that the "Step Brothers 2" hype is all not true.

IGN reported that the "Step Brothers" director Adam McKay has spoken himself about the fate of a part two of the movie. When asked if a sequel will come, McKay answered "never say never," which proposes that he did not deny nor confirm it. Fox 40 also cited that McKay mentioned "not right now." Nonetheless, the director shared his thoughts regarding a possible second installment.

"But man oh man, if we had an idea, and the funny thing is the older Will [Ferrell] and [John C.] Reilly get, the funnier idea gets. So is it possible when they're like 57/58-years old, we do a Step Brothers sequel? Maybe," said McKay.
