Steph Curry Injury Update: Not an ACL injury
Curry is set to be out for a while after a knee injury.
It has been a tough post season for Steph Curry as he has been battling different injuries lately but the Golden State Warriors' star received good news on the knock on his knee.
According to a statement released by the team, it is reported that Curry suffered a Grade 1 right knee sprain and not an ACL injury after a slip in Game 4 of their first-round battle with the Houston Rockets.
While it is not something serious like an ACL injury, Curry is still set to be re-evaluated in two weeks and is effectively out of the line-up until that time.
As reported by Sam Amick of USA Today, the announcement read: "According to a person with knowledge of Curry's situation, the early fear is that Curry suffered a sprain in his medial collateral ligament during his second-quarter slip."
Aside from the knee injury, Curry was also just recovering from a knock on his ankle in the same series against the Rockets, resulting in him missing out games two and three of the series.
However, the MVP has chosen to stay positive, tweeting out to thank the fans for keeping everything positive. He shared on Twitter: "Thanks 4 all the prayers & messages. Can feel all the positive energy. God is Great! All things considered I'm Gonna be alright! #DubNation"
So far in the series, Curry has played less than 20 minutes in each game, and the depth of the Warriors has truly been tested.
In the absence of Curry, Shawn Livingston has been chosen to step up and play multiple minutes, while veteran players like Leandro Barbosa are given more responsibilities to pick up the slack with Curry's absence.
At the moment, the Warriors hold a comfortable 3-1 series lead over the Rockets and are looking to close things out when they meet at the ORACLE Arena for Game 5.
Up next for them is a possible clash against the Los Angeles Clippers or the Portland Trail Blazers.
