Steve Harvey and Wife Reveal Love Obstacles
Steve Harvey is sharing some love lessons with the help of his wife Marjorie. Harvey, the 56-year-old comedian,author and host, is appearing on the February issue of ESSENCE magazine where he and his wife are opening up about some of the obstacles they had to overcome before living happily ever after.
The comedian and his future wife knew they were going to get married soon after meeting, but it took 17 years and two divorces in Harvey's life before that happened.
"I don't know who you are but I'm going to marry you, " Harvey told Marjorie when she walked into a Memphis comedy club where he was performing, according to ESSENCE.

It seems Marjorie was sure the same would happen, but it took some time before the comedian's claims came true.
"I knew he was The One shortly after I started dated him...but then he just left," Marjorie told ESSENCE. "Disappeared."
The pair finally came back together in 2005 and got married two years later. Harvey revealed why it may take some men some time to commit to the right woman in their life.
"Before a man can be of use to a woman...he's got to know who he is, what he does and how much he's going to make," Harvey told ESSENCE.
He went on to speak about the importance of men finding the right women in their life.
"Every great man has a woman... I didn't say successful man, I said great man.. Greatness is when you're the husband and father you're supposed to be," Harvey revealed. "When everyone surrounding you looks up to you, depends on you, and you come through for them. That's greatness."
Harvey, a Christian, has spoken publicly about his faith and how God has used him to impact people in a positive way. Although he began his career as a comedian, Harvey headlined his very last stand-up comedy show with tears while giving glory to God in 2012 at the the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"Somebody tweeted me and said, 'Your career is what you paid for, your calling is what you're made for.' God has positioned me just this way to be just like I am, to say what I say how I say it," Harvey told his audience in a final goodbye. "I'm just a living witness that you can be an imperfect soldier and still be in the army fighting for God Almighty. Don't you think you got to be perfect 'cause I ain't."
