Steve Jobs Dies: Sports Figures React

Steve Jobs, former Apple CEO, whose death was announced on Wednesday, impacted the world of sports and was the topic of conversation on Twitter for many in the sports industry.

Kevin Weekes, retired goaltender for a Canadian professional ice hockey team and NHL analyst, credited Jobs with changing lives.

“He changed our lives despite those that said he couldn't,and I'm so glad he did,” Weekes wrote on his Twitter. “Live #YourDream , RIP #SteveJobs”

Nate Collins, defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars, spoke about his influence in technology beyond the grave.

“The craziest part of Steve Jobs dying I bet most people who found out about his death most likely was using a device he created,” Collins tweeted.

Lance Armstrong, former American professional cyclist, expressed his regret for the passing of a friend and marveled at his innovations on Twitter.

"A computer is the most remarkable tool that we've ever come up with. It's a bicycle for our minds," Armstrong wrote. “Steve Jobs Devastated 2 hear about the passing of Steve Jobs. Was blessed 2 have the opportunity to spend time w/ him on several occasions. May he RIP.”

NBA All-Star Lebron James joined with other influential sports personalities to express his condolences for the loss of Steve Jobs.

“R.I.P Steve Jobs. Someone who definitely left his mark on this world,” James tweeted. “Innovations that will live and last forever!”

Ndamukong Suh, a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, also expressed his condolences on Twitter and gave a spiritual message to his followers.

“It is very sad to hear that Mr. Steve Jobs has passed,” Suh wrote. “He Will be greatly missed in many ways, will pray for his family!! #RIPSteveJobs #Apple”

Jobs, 56, died after creating the Apple brand as an entrepreneur and inventor.
