Steve Jobs Fans React to Apple Resignation on Twitter
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, announced his resignation from the technology company on Wednesday, and the news immediately brought about a wave of strong fan reactions.
In his announcement to the Apple Board of Directors, Jobs announced that he would no longer report for his duties as CEO.
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come,” Jobs wrote. “I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.”

Upon his announcement, fans of Jobs and the Apple brand took to Twitter to express their regret and admiration for the CEO.
“Steve Job's greatest creation isn't any Apple product. It is Apple itself,” icarmagic wrote. “The culture is his legacy."
Some marveled at that legacy, in which Jobs created mobile phones, personal computers and movie animation.
“Two of the greatest runs I have witnessed in my life, Michael Jordan and Steve Jobs,” KennyTheTendy wrote.
“Goodbye Steve Jobs,” another fan by the name of bossagurl wrote. “Thanks for all the amazing technology you gave the world.”
Although many spoke about their respect for Jobs, some questioned what would happen to the Apple brand.
“Steve Jobs is resigning,” HiThereTSwizzle tweeted. “What will happen to the world?”
Twitter user SeanLind seemed to have an equally negative outlook on the latest news to stem from the Apple company.
"Apple has clearly shown they have horrible business sense, Steve Jobs has shown he has the best,” SeanLind wrote. “How will Apple fare this time around?"
Despite all of the concerns from Jobs admirers, the former CEO nominated Tim Cook as his successor. He was vocal about wanting to contribute to the company as Chairman of the Board and assured people that the brand would continue to succeed.
“I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it,” Jobs wrote in his resignation letter on Wednesday. “And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.”
