Steven Curtis Chapman Starts 'Deep Roots' Album Giveaway and Free Meal
Steven Curtis Chapman is running a contest for his latest hymnes/blues album, Deep Roots, where four winners will be receiving the record along with a coupon for a free dinner for two at Cracker Barrel.
The contest, taking place at JesusFreakHideout.com, ends on Saturday May 20 and can be found here.
Chapman's approach to Deep Roots was unique in the fact that the CD can only be purchased in Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores and is not available anywhere else besides Amazon and iTunes.
Released on March 11, Chapman decided to make the record a family affair by featuring his father, Herb Chapman and brother, Herb Jr., along with his son Caleb and daughter-in-law Jillian Edwards Chapman.
"I've been through so much in the last 25 years, and more recently in the last few years– from walking through the deep grief of losing my youngest daughter in an accident, and all of those things that have made those songs all the more important to me," he told Billboard. "To be able to include my dad and brother, and have them sing with me, my son, and daughter-in-law, and even my bluegrass 'big brother,' Ricky Skaggs make an appearance, this was a dream come true for me to get to record."
Cracker Barrel, a store known mostly for their dining experience and southern hospitality, is excited to be venturing into this music endeavor with Chapman.
"Our team at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is excited to announce we will be working with highly-regarded recording artist, Steven Curtis Chapman for the exclusive release of Deep Roots," said Julie Craig, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store's Marketing Manager in a press release.
"Chapman's stand-out talent and devotion to making a positive impact make him a natural partner with Cracker Barrel, and the distinctive sound of his music makes for a wonderful collection of songs -- both known and new we think audiences will enjoy," she stated.
The recording artist has had 47 no. 1 hits on Christian radio, 57 Dove Awards, and five Grammys, as well as two platinum and eight gold albums, and 18 projects total since 1987.
In addition to adopting children of his own, Chapman's non-profit organization, Show Hope, launched in 2003, helps millions of orphan children around the world every year in over 50 nations.
