Steven Tyler Health News: Aerosmith Cancels Tour Due to Frontman's 'Medical Issues'

Aerosmith needed to cancel several lined up shows due to lead singer Steven Tyler's medical condition.

The popular American band was in the middle of the South American leg of their "AeroVederci" concert tour when they announced that they had to cancel the remaining shows in the region due to Tyler's health.

In a statement, the band confirmed that "due to unexpected medical issues" the band's front man "is seeking immediate care." The band did not specify Tyler's said medical issues but stated that the lead singer "has been advised by his doctors that he cannot travel or perform at this time."

In effect, the band was not able to proceed to Curitiba, Brazil on Sept. 27, and Santiago, Chile on Sept. 30. Their shows in Rosario, Argentina, on Oct. 3, and Monterrey, Mexico, on Oct. 7 have also been affected.

On the other hand, the band assured its fans that they were positive the voice behind the classic favorite song "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" will soon fully recover. "With proper rest and treatment he will be back on his feet soon rocking the world," the band added.

In the same statement, Tyler addressed their fans from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico, and said he was "very sorry" since he "feels like I've let you down." In the lead singer's own words, he also confirmed that he flew back to the United States shortly after their Sao Paulo concert as per the doctors' advice.

Meanwhile, Tyler asked his fans to not worry about him and reiterated that he was "not in a life threatening condition." However, whatever medical situation he was currently experiencing, the artist insisted that it was something he "needs to deal with right away."

Tyler then promised fans that he will soon be back to perform but said "health does not wait."

As of now, the band and their management are yet to confirm if there will be plans to reschedule the canceled shows in South America.
