Steven Tyler News: Aerosmith Frontman Stars in New Skittles Ad
Following his awesome performance in his Super 50's commercial, Steven Tyler is once again reunited with his rainbow candy image in a new Skittles ad that honors his legacy and music.
According to People, the ad, titled "Portrait Duet" sees Tyler's candy replica asking how it feels to be the "real" Aerosmith frontman and the famous singer explained that he could write a song. The idea of writing a song together was then suggested by Tyler.
The portrait then starts singing parts of "Red, White & You" and the 68-year-old singing sensation soon joined in. By the end of the clip, the Skittles portrait bursts, as if suggesting that it wasn't able to hold out the notes as far as Tyler could.
The song is part of Tyler's new country album which is due for release in summer. Aside from his album release and other activities, Tyler is also preparing for a concert that will benefit Janie's Fund, a charity that aims to help abused and neglected girls around the country. The said event will be held in New York City on May 2 and will be organized with director Brett Ratner.
Also, the former "American Idol" judge is scheduled to perform at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand for a summer special. Tickets for the August 20 event will start selling on April 16.
According to The Des Moines Register, the tickets' pricing start from $45 to $65 and can be purchased online (ticketmaster.com) or through Ticketmaster outlets. Interested fans can also call 800-745-3000 for reservations.
Tyler will be joined by Jeff Dunham, Lady Antebellum, Heart, and Joan Jett among others. Complete details on the activities of the fair are not yet available but the official website says there will be rides, food, contests, and livestock shows.
Known famously for his music and time with Aerosmith, Tyler has received various awards with his band and has toured all around the globe during various occasions.
