'Steven Universe' Season 4: Finale to Feature Another Homeworld Visit?
Fans of "Steven Universe" are readying themselves for another long hiatus from the popular cartoon series.
At the moment, Cartoon Network has yet to release new episodes following the March 10 airing. Speculations point out that the last five episodes will be available after Easter break in April. The last time the series aired, Steven and Peridot helped Lapis Lazuli accept her past. Lapis' journey to healing was not easy. She needed all the help she could get. Her scars continued to haunt her and pull her down. Fortunately, her friends stood by her and urged her to forget and move on.
By now, many fans are quite used to the erratic schedule of the cartoon. "Steven Universe" has been known to go on hiatuses that take weeks or even months. Cartoon Network or series creator Rebecca Sugar has not seen the need to explain why the show is always taking breaks. Viewers are left to ponder on possible reasons, one being the lack of material to air. Since the show is close to the finale, some have dismissed this suggestion, preferring to believe that the network is deliberately not prioritizing the award-winning cartoon.
In a forum on Reddit, one fan with the username kianworld defended the network from bashers, stating that there is no way "Steven Universe" is being put on the back burner. The fan also discussed why there was no need to transfer the show to Netflix just because of the schedule. An alleged timetable by Cartoon Network reveals that no new episodes will be aired for the next weeks.
"CN does appreciate it, what are you talking about? Admittedly the schedule is wack and it's entirely some executive named Vishnu's fault but if they didn't appreciate it they wouldn't have given it a console game (with actual effort unlike that 'Battle Crashers' game with Uncle Grandpa and other cancelled CN shows), all those Funko pops, the new comic book series, or all the attention on the network's social media," the post reads.
Meanwhile, spoilers reveal that when the series does return, it will feature a huge plot event that may or may not involve another visit to Homeworld.
