'Stranger Things' Season 2 Plot Details, News: New Installment Will Pick Up from the Traumatic Events of Season 1
Netflix's sci-fi thriller "Stranger Things" is expected to release its second season this year - after its first installment gained worldwide popularity in 2016.
Teaser photos and several details about the plot are already being revealed by the show's producers, and it is safe to say that "Stranger Things" season 2 will instantly pick up from the traumatic events of season 1.
In an Entertainment Weekly report, co-creator Matt Duffer reveals that Will (Noah Schnapp) will be experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder by the start of season 2.

"He seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down--the question is whether they're real or not," Duffer shared. To backtrack, Will was saved from the Upside Down and was shown coughing up a slug by the end of season 1.
Joyce (Winona Ryder), the mother of Will and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) is also said to be dating Bob (Sean Astin) in the upcoming season. Bob was a high school classmate of hers, and Joyce picked him in an effort to make things right for her sons. "I think she's made this choice with Bob because she wants a good father figure in her sons' lives," Ryder told EW.
Things are also hard for Police Chief Hopper (David Harbour) in season 2. As the voice of authority, he is forced to cover up things about Barb's disappearance to ensure the safety of Joyce and her sons. Harbour shared that his character is "struggling with the compromise that takes him to, having to lie and cover things up."
Season 2 is also confirmed to have new characters on board. These include siblings Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink). As previously hinted, Billy is someone who usually gets into trouble, and it is expected that he will turn out to be a bad guy in the new season. Meanwhile, his sister, Max, is described as "a tough and confident girl" who is still suspicious of people.
Paul Reiser (from "Aliens") is also confirmed to join the cast as Dr. Owens, and he will be the newly appointed person-in-charge of the Upside Down rift in the laboratory.
Furthermore, there is still no confirmation whether or not Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is dead. Many speculate that the character is still returning, but the producers neither deny nor confirm the possibility.
Duffer, however, added that season 2 will be exploring different kinds of horror. "The evil in the real world is often as bad or worse than the supernatural evil, so we wanted to introduce a character like that," he said in the EW report.
"Stranger Things" season 2 is expected to premiere by Halloween on the streaming platform Netflix.
