'Street Fighter 5' on Steam OS: Capcom Announces Windows PC and Steam Controller Support as Third Beta Rolls Out
Capcom has announced that its upcoming game, "Street Fighter 5," will be supporting Steam OS. Participants of "Street Fighter 5's" third beta, which is ongoing, can try out the Steam controller that the game will also support.

Capcom has announced another addition to the platforms that "Street Fighter 5" can be played on. Aside from PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, the upcoming title will also be playable on Steam, a Linux-based OS from Valve that is available to anyone for free.

"Hey everyone. I'm excited to announce that Street Fighter V will be officially supporting Steam OS!" Capcom said in a blog post at its official site. "We are working closely with Valve on this endeavor, and will have more details to announce in the near future, so stay tuned for updates."
In the same post, Capcom also revealed the game's support for the Steam controller, a configurable peripheral for PC play. Those interested can use the Steam controller in the beta version of the game.

In a separate post, Capcom provided details for the third beta of "Street Fighter 5." The Japanese company revealed the playable characters and other content that will be available for players participating in the beta.
The beta starts with six characters: Ryu, Cammy, Nash, Birdie, Necali, and Laura. Two others will be available after the beta has started: Zangief and Dhalsim. But more characters may pop up as Capcom has teased "a few more character surprises along the way."
Beta participants will be able to play Ranked and Casual matches, do some training, and watch replays, check out the leaderboard, and search for rivals in Capcom Fighters Network.
"Street Fighter 5's" third beta started on Friday, Dec. 18, and ends on Sunday, Dec. 20. The game is confirmed to release on Feb. 16, 2016 for the PC and PS4. The game's availability on Steam has yet to be announced.
