'Street Fighter V' New Release Details: Capcom Reveals F.A.N.G. Uses Poison as a Series First Mechanic, New Character Completes Launch Roster

Capcom made several announcements during Sony's PlayStation Experience that happened this weekend. One of these is the revelation of the character F.A.N.G., who completes the roster for the anticipated launching of the game next year.

F.A.N.G. is an assassin who is second in command to M. Bison in Shadaloo. His offense and defense repertoire makes use of poison, a series first mechanic.

His V-Skill, or signature special move, is Nishodoku. When using this move, F.A.N.G. sends out a slow-moving projectile filled with poison to his opponent. It slowly deals damage to the enemy once it makes contact with them.

F.A.N.G.'s other unique move is Dokunomu. This V-Trigger is described as the character's ultimate defense. When using this move, F.A.N.G. emits a cloud of poison around his body. This deals damage to the opponent as long as they're near him. V-Triggers can be risky to use as it can only be unleashed after the V-Gauge is filled, which happens when the character takes damage.

However, his poison attacks, when they connect, can continuously deal damage to the opponent's life bar until the poison runs its course or the enemy gets hit. According to Capcom, the end result is: "F.A.N.G.'s sinister long range attacks and slippery movements, paired with his ability to poison, will leave his opponents feeling ill."

In addition to F.A.N.G., Capcom has also confirmed six characters that players can get after launch either by earning them as they progress through the game or through the Season Pass. The six characters are Guile, Ibuki, Alex, Balrog, Juri, and Urien.

The announcement of F.A.N.G. and the six other characters confirms a previous audio file leak reported by Shoryuken.

"Street Fighter V" launches on Feb. 16, 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4.
