'Street Fighter V' Season 2 DLC News: 8-Hour Server Maintenance Announced; Balance Patch Coming?
Capcom has announced an eight-hour server maintenance for "Street Fighter V" set to take place tomorrow, March 7, at 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day PDT.
During the downtime, the online servers of the fighting game will be inaccessible. Capcom did not provide any details on what the maintenance will be about.
Event Hubs, however, has reason to believe that the maintenance is for "Street Fighter V" to finally receive the balance patch that players have been waiting for.
The site believes that with Capcom having just added Kolin to the roster, this server maintenance will likely be more about polishing the game than anything else.
Additionally, the publication believes that it is high time for the release of a balance patch for "Street Fighter V." For one, it will prepare the game for the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour with the Final Round kicking off on March 10. The company would want to make sure the game is in tip-top shape before the big event.
Capcom itself has also teased the release of a "Street Fighter V" balance patch for the Season 2 content promised for the fighting game.
"We have been analyzing player performance since the Season 2 balance changes. At this time, we can confirm additional changes are in the works to bring characters in-line with how we envision them to perform," the studio wrote.
"We can't share all of the details quite yet, but we are anticipating an announcement [in] early March," Capcom went on to explain.
Also, the fact that the server maintenance takes eight hours suggests that Capcom will do some extensive work on "Street Fighter V." With all that said, a balance patch might just be around the corner.
As fans wait for official word, they can first try out the newly added character Kolin, who, as per "Street Fighter V" top competitor Long "LPN" Nguyen, has a huge potential.
