A female basketball coach from a New York City Catholic High School is now being accused of having sex with a male student on more than one occasion.

Megan Mahoney, 25, a former basketball coach at Moore Catholic High School in Staten Island, New York engaged in a months-long sexual relationship last year with a 16-year old student, according to a New York Post report.

The publication spoke to the victim, who chose to remain anonymous, about the alleged affair that he claims Richard Postiglione, the school's athletic director and chief operating officer failed to report after learning of it.

The victim also told the Post that he and Mahoney engaged in multiple sexual encounters in her car which began last fall. The coach would pick him up from his home and take him to secluded spots to have sex.

"We would just drive around and [do it] in the car," he said to The Post.

He also elaborated on the details of their inappropriate relationship.

"We were never boyfriend-girlfriend," he continued. "It was cool. I knew it wasn't going anywhere. I told my best friend and like three kids."

Mahoney denied the claims, however, the boy's parents say they saw the two together on various occasions and did not question their meeting since they believed Mahoney was a high school student herself.

"She looks young," said the victim's father. "You'd never know."

Two school sources claim Postiglione knew about the relationship.

"Richie knew all about it," said one source, who learned of the relationship from one of the teen's close friends. "Bob told me [Postiglione] had investigated and there was no truth to it. He told me she came from an upstanding Catholic family. But there was notorious gossip all over the school. These boys didn't keep quiet."

The source also claimed to have sent an email to Postiglione and school board chairman Anthony Ferreri about the issue. The second source claims the Manisero, Ferreri and Postiglione were all informed about it, but did not tell police or child-protection authorities.

Postiglione told them he confronted Mahoney about the relationship asking her to end it. However, the two were spotted again in January by the boy's jealous ex-girlfriend after Postiglione's claim at a pizzeria where cops were called to the scene by the girl.

Mahoney resigned shortly after this incident, according to the school sources.

The student says teachers at the school looked to fail him after the coach left her job. The mother corroborated his story to the Post.

The sources also claim that Postiglione knew about another female coach who worked under him in 2006 or 2007 that was sleeping with a female student.

"Rich knew about it in the first year and let it continue for four more years," the source said. "He forced the coach to sign "an agreement to stop."

That relationship also continued and eventually led to the coach resigning under pressure.

The NYPD is currently investigating the claims.
