Student Suspended After Disarming Gunman: Gun Incident Hits Florida School
A student has been suspended after disarming a gunman, according to reports coming out of Florida today.
A 16 year old high school student in Florida has claimed that he was suspended by his school for three days after wrestling a loaded firearm away from another teenager who was threatening to shoot another student at their school.
The suspended student has alleged that a 15 year old student had pointed the loaded gun at another student on their school bus as they were on their way to Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers. Seeing the immediate threat, the suspended student, who has refused to identify himself, says he jumped on the armed teen and wrestled the gun away from him.

According to Fox 4 Now, the student said, "I think he was really going to shoot him right then and there."
The incident was reported to the school authorities, and the student claims he was suspended the next day for his part in an "incident" where a weapon had been produced. He claims that he was put on "emergency suspension" by the school, despite claiming to have halted a potentially fatal incident.
The student's mother has also spoken out about the incident. She has said that her son was ultimately suspended as he refused to cooperate with their investigation into the incident. She has said that her son was scared to speak out for fear of a revenge attack.
The student who had produced the gun on the school bus has since been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property, as well as assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
Sgt. David Valez of the Lee County Sheriff's Office has told Fox 4 Now that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Meanwhile, school officials have apparently declined to make any public comment to press, citing privacy issues.
