Students Stabbed in Houston: Horror on Campus as 1 Killed, 3 Injured in Texas (VIDEO)
Four students have been stabbed in Houston, Texas on Wednesday in a possible gang-related attack. Three of the students were injured and a fourth student was killed in the horrific attack.
The early morning stabbings led to the school being put in lock down immediately. Reports flooded in to emergency services at about 7 a.m. that an attack had taken place in the school cafeteria.
The teen students were reportedly involved in some type of physical confrontation, according to USA Today, and Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia has explained that the four students were stabbed with a type of "cutting instrument."
One of the students died from his wounds, another was in critical condition, and two others only received minor injuries.
The critically injured teen was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Police quickly locked down the campus and reportedly arrested three suspects in relation to the stabbing incident. Officials have not yet released the suspects' names or ages, but witness reports claim that two of the suspects were seen being led away by officers in handcuffs.
Parents of students were informed of the stabbing incident through automated phone calls and emails, and a memo explained that the school would remain in a locked down state pending a police investigation into the incident.
Some parents have claimed that the fight was the continuation of a disturbance that broke out Tuesday, but officials at the school, which has about 3,500 students, would not confirm those claims.
Authorities have indicated that it is believed the attack was gang-related, however, some have been skeptical to blame gang activity for the incident.
It was later confirmed that the victim who died was a 17 year old male student, and the student in a critical condition was a 16 year old.
Meanwhile, Spring school district officials have canceled classes at the high school for the rest of the week.
