Stunning Photos Put 'Face' to NYC's Poverty Problem With 'Faceless Project'
New York City photographer Donato DiCamillo is on a mission to bring awareness for NYC's homeless population. In the city that never sleeps, there are indeed an extraordinary number of impoverished who in fact "sleep" on the streets.
DiCamillo hopes his "Faceless Project" will give a face to a real problem, and inspire people to get out there and do what they can to help.
"As a street photographer I began photographing images of our city's afflicted and homeless, now, realizing how many there actually are I became much more motivated to document them. I am creating a collection of photographs and video clips in hopes to shed some light and educate people on why and how these people wind up living the way they do.
"At one point in my life I was afflicted with a number of spiritual and mental diseases that left me emotionally and spiritually bankrupt. "I lost hope." Now my life has completely turned around, and it started with the smallest of gestures, "KINDNESS."
"Please follow me on my journey and allow yourselves, to see and feel the joy of giving, helping, and loving."
