'Suicide Squad' News: Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Could Receive Spin-Off Movie

Even though Margot Robbie has yet to be debut her character Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC film "Suicide Squad," she is reportedly getting a spin-off movie featuring other female characters of the DC comics.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is planning to release a spin-off movie for the female DC heroes and villains. Robbie will continue playing the role of Harley Quinn while also producing the upcoming film.

The movie is said to be Robbie's passion project since she became interested in the other women of the DC world when learning about her role of "Suicide Squad." Aside from Harley Quinn, other DC characters such as Poison Ivy, Katana, Bumblebee, Batgirl, and Birds of Prey will also be seen in the spin-off movie. While there has yet to be any news on who will be playing these roles, it was indicated that Robbie has already gotten a female writer to make the script for the film.

Though Harley Quinn was originally a sidekick of the Joker, her comic series have garnered a lot of interest to DC fans, due to her quirky personality.

Meanwhile, there has yet to be any official announcement for Warner Bros. concerning cast news and release date. Some are speculating that other female characters from "Suicide Squad" could be joining Robbie in the upcoming spin-off. However, these details have yet to be revealed, as per The Week.

With that, fans will just have to wait until "Suicide Squad" to witness Robbie's character Harley Quinn in action."Suicide Squad" is expected to hit theaters on Aug. 4, 2016.
