'Suicide Squad' News: Will Smith Talks about Jared Leto's Joker, Says He Has 'Never' Met Co-Star
As "Suicide Squad" draws near the big screen, moviegoers are already looking forward to the launch of probably the biggest antihero-turned-hero movie in history, with many specifically waiting for a glimpse at The Joker.
DC fans already know much about what The Joker is all about — and that he is indeed no joke at all. However, non-DC fans have expressed recently that Jared Leto's depiction of one of Batman's archenemies is something to watch out for. The excitement first started when production released the first promotional stills for the movie and The Joker proved to be just as haunting and taunting in the images as he would have been to Bruce Wayne.
Meanwhile, Will Smith, who will be playing the role of Deadshot, has revealed how he sees his co-star Leto off cam. In an interview with Beats 1 Radio, he admitted that he has "never actually met" the guy behind the iconic role. "We worked for six months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'Action!' and 'Cut!' I literally have not met him yet," he said. Jokingly he added that "the first time I see him will be 'Hey, Jared. What's up?'"
The celebrated actor also commended Leto for his performance on set and his commitment to his character. "He was all in on the Joker," he said.
Another hot topic that started getting "Suicide Squad" fans more hyped up for the movie's coming is a rumor that says Leto is still channeling his character even after filming has wrapped up six weeks ago.
According to The Daily Mail, the 43-year-old actor was spotted last Thursday on a stroll in downtown New York donning a poncho that well-spoke of the arts and crafts and a fun-loving pair of harem pants. He also especially got the eye of paparazzi and some busy-street walkers as he wore his pink-dyed hair in confidence. The look gave fans and watchers the idea that he just might not be ready to drop his character.
"Suicide Squad" hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
