'Suicide Squad' spoilers; DC villains to take the lead

"Suicide Squad" is the latest DC comic book that will be turned into a movie by Warner Bros. The movie is about a group of supervillains that are strong armed into participating in deadly missions by a covert government agency in exchange for amnesty. There will be no superheroes in this film at all. Although the villains in this movie have been featured in a wide array of media like "Arrow" and "Batman: Assault on Arkham," this will be the first time that they will be featured in theaters.

The movie's specific plot has not yet been revealed, but comic book fans expect the film to follow the same essential plot of the comics. The suicide squad is an underground team of supervillains who were imprisoned by the U.S. government and coerced to complete high-risk missions for them. If they are successful in their mission, they survive to fight another day, as well as get their prison sentences shortened. If they fail, they are easily written off. They have micro bombs implanted in them that can be used as a kill switch if they try to escape or cause any trouble during the mission, hence their name suicide squad.

The movie will be directed by David Ayer whose film credits include "Street Kings" and "End of Watch." He will be writing the script, as well. Ayer wrote the scripts of films such as "Training Day" and "S.W.A.T."
