'Suits' Season 7: Mike Ross Has a Clean Slate; Jessica to Have a Spinoff
The world of legal battles is as cutthroat as it is boring in some ways to some people. Yet in USA Network's "Suits," it shows that the concept can be both enticing and interesting, so much that it is about to get a seventh season soon and a potential spinoff.
There is a lot to be excited about in the upcoming season of "Suits" when it returns this year. According to Inquisitr, Mike Ross, who is played by Patrick J. Adams, is going to be living an entirely new, privileged life in season 7 as he finally becomes a full-fledged lawyer.
It can be recalled that in the past six installments to the series, Mike has been coasting along, posing as a fraud and pretending to be a real lawyer. This time around, things will be looking up for him after Jessica Pearson's (Gina Torres) testimony in his favor, netting him his license finally.
The fact that he is now the real deal opens a myriad of possibilities as far as plot and storyline are concerned. In an interview with Deadline, series showrunner Aaron Korsh confirms this, and it's about time to move on. "We started the show obviously with the premise that Mike was a fraud, and I feel like over the course of the six years we really wrung as much drama as could possibly be wrung out of it," he says.
While it opens a lot of leg room for the main series, its popularity is also potentially giving rise to a spinoff, specifically for Jessica. As to how her own story unravels and how it can be supported logistically, however, is something that is still subject to a lot of discussion to make it work as good as the main one, Korsh tells The Hollywood Reporter.
"Suits" season 7 doesn't have a specific release date yet, but is expected to arrive in summer 2017.
