Super Bowl XLVI Map Application Available for iOS, Android
Developer UpNext has launched a new mobile app for the iOS and Android market that will allow users to enjoy Super Bowl XLVI from the palm of their hand.
This app specializes in the framework used around the game rather than covering the game normally. It features a 3-D map of Indianapolis where this year's Super Bowl will take place. It gives specific details of the stadium including searchable seating, maps with exits detailed, bathrooms and vendors.
Users can also use the app to explore nearby restaurants, shops and hotels to the stadium in 3-D as well.
PCMag.com highlighted the app's Driving button as one its most interesting features. It allows the user to to access the app while driving and by tapping the Driving button, its brightness dims to avoid the outside glare.
UpNext developed the Super Bowl app. This new company mostly specializes in high-definition 3D maps for mobile devices.
One example of this would be its UpNext NYC app that features a high resolution layout of New York City that can be interacted with by the user. It also allows them to locate FourSquare check-ins.
UpNext provides maps for every major city in the United States. The maps provide users with a general overview of the location of their choice. They can zoom in on the specific area they want information on and find out about it by navigating around the app.
The app's features seem to support the theory that the actual Super Bowl game has become somewhat of a sideshow with the main attraction being the advertisements, commercials, sponsorships and promotions that take place during the competition.
YouTube has even created a specific page for viewers interested in just checking out only the commercials that air during this year's big game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
