'Super Mario Odyssey' Costumes Update: Nintendo Unveils More of Mario's New Wardrobe
Nintendo has released a new trailer showing the new costumes of Mario in its upcoming 3D platform video game, "Super Mario Odyssey."
According to GameSpot, there are several optional outfits that Mario can wear in the game and they are all colorful and charming. There is the classic ensemble of blue and red, a suit, and even a polka dot swimsuit for when Mario goes swimming. He also has specific outfits as a chef, as a safari explorer, as a cowboy and as a builder, among others. These clothes are reportedly based on the different worlds in the platform, as well as some of the iconic moments in Mario's history.
Since Nintendo announced that they were developing a Mario platformer specifically for the Switch that is set for release this month, gamers all over the world have been looking forward to new updates. Game Rant reported that "Super Mario Odyssey" was the biggest Mario experience to date. It has been revealed that the game would include open worlds like New Donk City and a new one called Seaside Kingdom. There is also the interesting bit about Mario's hat, Cappy, which has the ability to transform him into other enemies or objects.

The platformer is also said to include new gameplay. Upon entering Mario's world, players will be introduced to Bubblaine, a resort town where an octopus is holding court. The tyrant has reportedly made the top of a large glass his headquarters, where he uses a straw to siphon all the waters in the place. The locals will ask Mario to defeat the villain via the "Glass is Half Empty" quest, but before the action takes place, gamers will have to find the Crazy Cap store where Mario can get into his much-hyped swimsuit. They may also want to try to the new Snapshot Photo mode, complete with customizable options and filters.
"Super Mario Odyssey" arrives on the Nintendo Switch on Oct. 27.
