Super Smash Bros 4 Characters: Pitt Gets Redesign as Kid Icarus Uprising Launches in Nintendo eShop

Super Smash Bros 4 director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed a "Pic of the Day" screenshot featuring Pitt to coincide with Kid Icarus: Uprising being released in Japan.

"Pic of the day. Kid Icarus: Uprising is now available to download via eShop in Japan. By the way, we gave a makeover to Pit's pose when he's shooting his bow and arrow so it looks sharper. Do note that all images are still in development. This and past pics may be different from the finished product. Thanks for understanding," Sakurai said in the Miiverse post. See the picture here.

Sakurai also hinted at a new character being in the upcoming game Friday when he released the "Pic of the Day."

Technically speaking, the character is already in the game, it is just an alternate version. The Female Wii Fit trainer was a confirmed character in the game and now in the new screenshot it shows a Male Wii Fit trainer as well.

The two are seen together in one of the levels suggesting his involvement with the game. More than likely the main player to select is the female with the alternate costume being the male version. Usually there are a variety of different colors and costumes characters wear, and in this case it is just changing the gender.

"Pic of the day. The trial version of Wii Fit U is available now! We'd like to share this pic to commemorate the occasion," said Sakurai in the photo that can be seen here.

This will be the Wii Fit Trainer's first time in the SSB series after gaining popularity with Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus for the Wii.

Recently the game's release date may have been unintentionally leaked on a website listing. The website Newegg.com lists the Wii U date as December 31 2014 and the 3DS version of the game as being available on May 16 2014. See the listings here (3DS) and here (Wii U). SSB4 Wii U is $59.99 and SSB4 3DS is $39.99.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager.

SSB4 is set to arrive in early 2014.
