Super Smash Bros 4 Characters: The Villager's Lloid Rocket and Turnip Attacks Featured in 'Pic of the Day' (PHOTOS)

Super Smash Bros 4 latest 'Pic of the Day' reveals an attack by one of the newest characters in the game, The Villager.

The Villager from Animal Crossing has not been in any of the other installments of the franchise so his move sets, and attacks are unknown up to this point, until now.

"The Villager's special attack, the Lloid Rocket, is a projectile weapon like no other--you can either launch it or ride on it. When you fire it off, keep pressing the button to hop aboard--you can even control its speed. It's more powerful when you're riding it," said game director Masahiro Sakurai in the Miiverse Pic of the Day. See the image of the villager here.

Earlier this week, Sakurai revealed another move by the Villager, the turnip attack. "Turnips are used in the Villager's up-air and down-air attacks. Perhaps because the turnip prices fluctuate depending on the day's market, the number of turnips that appear changes every time," Sakurai posted. See the image here.

Recently, SSB4's release date may have accidentally been revealed by GameStop in a listing posted online.

Taking Nintendo's hint of a big announcement at the Video Game Awards, it is speculated that the big reveal is for the eagerly awaited fighting game. GameStop put the Wii U and 3DS title on their pre-order SKU with a launch date of April 8, 2014 according to GameTillYouDrop.

Previously, the website Newegg.com listed the Wii U date as December 31 2013 and the 3DS version of the game as being available on May 16 2014.

See the listings here (3DS) and here (Wii U). SSB4 Wii U is $59.99 and SSB4 3DS is $39.99.

There are currently 18 characters announced for the game, Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Marth, the Female Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager.

This will be the fourth game in the series and the first to also come to a handheld, the 3DS.
