Super Smash Bros 4 News: Game Director Explains the Lack of New Information
Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U and 3DS director Masahiro Sakurai revealed this week that he will not be providing any new updates regarding the two games in the near future.
Sakurai will be taking a break from leaking information on both games until Jan. 6, according to recent report from Nintendo Everything. This means his usual weekday updates for the Super Smash Bros. games will also be postponed.
"The pic of the day that runs Monday through Friday will be on break starting Dec. 27," said Masahiro in the report. "I'll be back on Jan. 6, so I hope everyone has a happy new year!!"
The director recently confirmed the addition of two new characters to the game with the inclusion of Rosalina from the Super Mario Galaxy series and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda franchise returning. 20 characters have already been confirmed as fighters for Super Smash Bros 4.
A new picture was released last week by Masahiro that features newly introduced Super Smash Bros 4 character Rosalina's sidekick Luma turning into a star in the Super Mario Galaxy stage.
"An image of Luma becoming a star on the Super Mario Galaxy stage," wrote the site. "Sakurai mentions that there are an infinite number of Lumas, Rosalina can summon them much like how Olimar plucks Pikmin from the ground."
This is the second picture to be put up this month that features Rosalina's little gold sidekick by the director as another shot surfaced on Thursday with the two taking on Mario.
Sakurai has been consistently releasing pictures that show off Super Smash Bros 4's characters and stages in order to stir up excitement for the latest version of this legendary Nintendo fighting series that began with the original installment on Nintendo 64 in 1999.
